Stipend and Benefits
The SH-PIC stipend for the 2025-2026 training year is $51,000. Additionally, to help off-set costs associated with housing and relocation for the internship, all interns also receive a one-time stipend of $1,000.
As employees of Sanford Health, all interns will receive comparable health benefits (medical, dental, vision), as well as paid time off.
To support our Interns role in caring for others, they will receive access to Sanford’s Provider Well Being resources. This includes a time-saving virtual assistant, as well as in-the-moment counseling for you and your family members available by phone or in-person to manage depression, stress, anxiety, anger management, marital and parenting concerns, work life issues, and wellbeing lifestyle changes. Interns will also have access to legal & financial resources, leadership development information, and referrals to reputable resources for issues such as chemical dependency.
Additional benefits include the use of the Sanford Health virtual library resource, access to Sanford’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Sanford Wellness benefits discount, and Continuing Education (CE) reimbursement. Interns will also be reimbursed for some travel-related expenses incurred during travel for mandatory, off-site training activities. For more information about eligible reimbursements, please see the Travel Reimbursement policy.
